Beautiful area, clean, easy parking, great picnic area with tables and amenities. Chilli plunge pools, awesome little hiking trail. Free entry. Was not overcrowded when I was there in November
I wish we had read the reviews before towing up the hill. It was a hairy 8km windy road and some locals drive so fast. Some parts were only wide enough for one car so toot your horn to warn others.
We made it up and it was worth.
Rocks are slippery in the swimming holes though very refreshing on a hot day.
Check depth of water before jumping in as some parts are shallow
A popular half day activity for locals and visitors to the area. A windy narrow bitumen road of 8kms snakes up the hill to where a bridge was built over the creek over 100 years ago. Various water holes for swimming but watch the slippery rocks. Picnic tables and drop toilet are available.
So much cooler than Townsville, plenty of room to spread out and find your own spot. Water temperature is very pleasant. Only a short distance from the car park but be aware that there are stairs to descend to the swimming area. Lots of picnic tables and very good amenities.
What a great little place. Plenty of parking. Public toilets . The water is freezing
Long windy drive, but it's worth it.
It started raining when we got there, then pouring but we didn't want to miss seeing this place. Ventured out in the rain with a toddler and it was amazing! Also made for a few good stories 😅
Beautiful drive, about 150 kl.s nth Townsville. Quiet a few small waterfalls on the side of the road then when you come up to an old stone bridge, you see the main waterfall.
Fantastic water holes to swim in. Cation is needed. Any water course in Australia can change quickly, the cemetery holds the proof. I would recommend the trip and enjoy the fantastic waterfalls and the swimming spots.
